ABOUT HALTON CAMERA EXCHANGE

Bodo, the founder of Halton Camera Exchange, along with his wife Heidi, opened Halton Camera Exchange in April of 1981 in downtown Georgetown.

The location offered enough space for a retail show room and a service department. The long time experiences in the Photography field that Bodo, Heidi, and Peter brought with them allowed them to be an exceptional resource for the professional and amateur photographer. Over the years they have greatly enjoyed sharing this knowledge with their customers. Over time the store was customized more and more to complete the needs in a continually changing marketplace.

In 1983 a move to our existing location brought about on going renovations. An in store photolab was installed in 1986 to provide one hour photofinishing services. As the business grew a need for more staff was required. This was in addition to our support of the local high school co-op program which we had been a part of since our beginnings. After completing high school in 1987 his love for photography also drew Bodo and Heidi's son into the business. Alexs' enthusiasm stemmed from spending many years in his childhood and youth participating in his parents business venture. The addition of Alex led to many new ideas.

Customer service was also taken to a new level. We expanded with a complete darkroom photo studio, an larger used equipment section, a framing service that included custom cuts, photography classes and much more.

A new adventure began again with the digital cameras explosion onto the marketplace. In 2004 a state of the art digital photo-lab was installed. Once more the store was renovated to fulfill the needs for high speed and high quality photofinishing. One on one lessons for digital camera sales are a given for our clientele.
